Geo starts with a puzzle you want to try. Here are the ideas behind the games and journal.
Spot a pattern. Try an answer. Have another go. Geo makes space for that kind of practice, with short maths games and essays you can follow at your own pace.
The things we will not do
- Streak guilt. No owl chasing you across the city. If you stop, you stop.
- Video lectures. Geo is a game. If you wanted a class, Khan Academy is excellent.
- Smart-for-smart-people tonality. The reader is curious, not gifted. Talk to them like a friend.
- Pastel-purple SaaS aesthetic. Maths is full of patterns and colour. Geo's orange mascot and colourful game boards belong here.
What we are doing instead
- Compete vs. complete. Practise on your own in the browser, or explore daily challenges and competitive modes in the app.
- Slow journalism for fast games. Careful essays on maths and patterns. Stand-alone first.
- Bored is the user. The five-minute commute is the unit of play. The app respects that.
- Free for students, simple for teachers. Free browser practice without a sign-in. Journal essays for non-commercial reuse under CC-BY-NC with attribution and a link.
