What we collect, and what we don't.

The short version

Akash Manmohan is the operator and controller responsible for this app and website. Geo, the Maths & Patterns app, uses Firebase services to run the app, save game progress, monitor app stability, and understand how the game is used. No ads. No third-party trackers in the app. No selling personal data, ever.

What we collect (in the app)

The app uses Firebase Authentication to keep you signed in and Firestore to save your game data. Reading and browser practice on this website need no account.

• Your Firebase Authentication user ID and sign-in email.
• A Firebase Installation ID generated automatically by the Firebase SDK.
• Firestore data used to save your game state: username, optional country and profile fields, age, scores, settings, streaks, gameplay progress.
• If you choose a country, it may be shown with your username in multiplayer, friend, and leaderboard surfaces.
• On the web version only, and only if you turn analytics on, Firebase Analytics events such as session starts, quiz starts, and quiz completions. The Android app ships no analytics SDK at all — which is why its settings screen has no switch to turn one off.
• On Android builds, Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash, ANR, device, app version, and diagnostic information.

What we collect (on this website)

You can read the public website and journal without an account. We store language, display and privacy preferences in your browser. Our hosting provider receives technical requests, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect pages. Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits and website interactions only after one action in which you self-attest that you are 18 or older and allow analytics; we do not verify your age. We do not run advertising or Microsoft Clarity session recordings. See the Cookies page for details.

What we do not collect

• No real name is required to play.
• No advertising SDKs are included in the app.
• No payment card details are collected.
• No third-party tracking SDKs are included outside Firebase services.
• No data about under-13 users is shared with advertising networks, period.

Children and family use

Playing on your own needs no account and no age. A guest session is anonymous and stays on the device: no username, no profile, no leaderboard entry, and no game data in our database. Creating an account requires you to be 13 or over, because an account is what puts a player in front of other people — multiplayer, friends, the public leaderboard — and what makes the toy reward programme possible. We ask for an age during account setup and store it on the account. If a parent or guardian believes a child under 13 has created an account, contact support to request review or deletion. We apply the same data minimisation to everyone: no advertising, no personalised analytics, and no sharing with third parties beyond what the service needs to run. Readers of any age can access the public journal. You do not need to give your age or accept analytics to read it. Optional website analytics is available in one action: you self-attest that you are 18 or over and allow analytics. We do not verify your age or store your date of birth or identity documents. This is a website privacy policy, not a minimum reading age. App accounts have separate eligibility checks during registration. Contact support about a child's account or data.

How your data is used

• To keep you signed in to your account.
• To sync progress, streaks, settings, and scores across sessions.
• To measure app usage and improve gameplay balance and stability.
• To protect the app from abuse, cheating, and account misuse.

How data is shared

We use Google Firebase as a service provider for authentication, Firestore database storage, installation identifiers, and analytics. Firebase processes data so the app can work. We do not sell personal data and we do not share personal data with advertising networks.

Analytics choice

In the web app, analytics is off by default and you can turn it on or off at any time from the in-app settings. The Android app has no analytics SDK, so there is nothing to switch — its settings screen says exactly that rather than offering a control that controls nothing. On this website, analytics only loads if you accept it in the cookie banner. Website analytics is off by default. If you are 18 or older, use one action to self-attest that you are 18 or older and allow analytics; we do not verify your age. Open Cookie settings near the bottom of any website or journal page, or on the Cookies page, to change your choice. Continue without analytics stops future measurement and clears accessible analytics cookies. Withdrawing consent does not erase data already collected. In-app analytics settings are separate.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account and saved game data from the Profile screen via the "Delete my account" option. This removes the stored user data tied to your account. If you cannot access the app, request deletion from the public delete-account page at mathandpatterns.com/delete-account. Some anonymised aggregate analytics, diagnostic logs, or limited abuse-prevention records may be retained where required by law. Delivery addresses for the toy reward programme are held separately and on a fixed clock. An address is used to send that one parcel and nothing else, and is deleted 90 days after the parcel is delivered — the 90 days exist so a parcel that goes missing can still be chased or replaced. If an order is cancelled or fails, the address is deleted straight away.

Security

Geo relies on Firebase security controls, authenticated access, and encrypted network connections. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we limit data collection to what the app needs to run.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Email us at the address below and we'll respond within 30 days.
